Just about anyone is a potential candidate for a dental implant procedure. If you have one or more damaged or missing teeth, implants are often the best long-term solution. While the procedure is not usually recommended for growing children, there are cases in which an implant is a viable option, such as when used in conjunction with a comprehensive orthodontic plan.
Since mini-implants require bones to support them, they cannot be used in an area of the jaw with inadequate vertical bone, or in areas with significant bone loss. You might also not be a good candidate for mini-dental implants if you grind your teeth regularly as it may wear them down prematurely.
