Cambridge Dental Implants

Simple & Painless!

Dental implants are substitute tooth roots that anchor a replacement tooth, a crown, a set of replacement teeth or a denture plate. Introduced more than a decade ago, the newer, smaller diameter implants, called mini-implants, are a popular choice at Cambridge Dental as they are a minimally-invasive alternative to traditional implants.

Mini Dental Implants vs Traditional Implants

An early pioneer in establishing dental implants as a superior option in Wichita, today, Cambridge Family Dentistry has completed more mini-implants than most clinics in the country.

Same Day Results

There are few clinics in the country that can install implants, even mini-implants, and have them ready for the patient to eat that afternoon. With six full-time doctors, a full staff and 20 treatment rooms, Cambridge is one of the largest and most up-to-date dental clinics in the country. We invest in all the latest tools to ensure the best results for our patients, such as 3-D CAT scans for precise analysis, planning and placement. Cambridge has a track record of superior results with fewer complications and shorter recovery periods.

More Versatile

Our implant protocol offers options far superior to standard dentures and bridges — including options for those who may have been told previously they are not a possible candidate for dental implants.

More Affordable

Since it is simpler and less invasive than conventional implant procedures, it is often much more affordable, costing about 1/3 of the price.

Virtually Painless

Patients generally don’t experience any discomfort with dental implants, but if they do, it’s usually only for the first day or so and can be treated with over-the-counter pain medications such as Tylenol.

The procedure for mini-dental implants is performed at our outpatient clinic with local anesthesia. The installation procedure usually only takes one appointment and the actual procedure itself can be completed in 1-2 hours.

Once the patient is anesthetized, a small drill is used to make a tiny hole through the gum tissue and into the jaw bone. The mini dental implants are then inserted using precision hand-tools, which give tactile feedback to the clinician. Then, a measurement of torque resistance is taken at the end to judge the initial mechanical stability.

Once the mini dental implants are completed, the prosthetic tooth, teeth, bridge or plate is fitted and securely attached. Because it’s minimally-invasive, there is no prolonged bleeding. In fact, you can usually eat comfortably that same afternoon, using your new, permanent teeth!
